Friends of Black Prince
FUNDRAISING
Our primary means of supporting Black Prince is by being able to make funding grants to the engine's owner, the North Norfolk Railway, in order to pay for its maintenance and overhauls. We raise our funds through various means (see below) to ensure we always have some cash in the bank for No. 92203 if required. Some of our fundraising comes from one off events or sales, some from regular donations from supporters.
REGULAR DONATIONS
The easiest way for us to ensure we have a regular income stream is for supporters to sign up to make regular donations to 'Friend of Black Prince'. We offer incentives to donors in return for their financial support, split into two main categories and supported by a third group specifically for younger steam enthusiasts. Much like a newspaper or magazine, knowing we have regular subscriptions (or in our case, donations) coming in means we can plan our finances and fundraising activities accurately.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Several times a year we run special events to help our cause. They usually take one of two forms:

Events which promote Friends of Black Prince, the locomotive, and which encourage new people to sign up as donors, and;

Events which reward and thank those who have signed up as regular donors to FoBP.
We publish these events through our social media channels as well as on our website. Regular donors will often be the first to be informed of special events due to the support the provide, and also get invited to private events for the same reason.
Special events we have run in recent years include footplate taster sessions and themed weekends, while regular donors can get invitations to private lunch trains or special footplate experience days.
MERCHANDISE
We know people like showing off their support of railway preservation with branded items, so we are happy to oblige! We occasionally release special Black Prince merchandise, such as T-shirts or calendars, which we can sell to raise money. As a thank you for their support, our regular donors are usually the first to know about new products.
